Contrary to conventional models of control, the ETF is an open
system of "individuals grouped as cells" responding to environmental
needs by assisting other organizations with their specific tasks.
A unifying & synergizing force, the ETF believes a human life
based firmly on experience and the ETF code of behaviour is worthwhile
and meaningful.
Although initiated by youth privileged to attend University, the
ETF is also attractive to suburban and innercity kids, aboriginal
populations, young offenders, people with disabilities and people
in Northern and rural environments because of the empowerment
and channeling of energy that ETF membership provides. Not only
does the ETF provide a fun way to serve the local and global community,
but it also builds skills in teamwork, organization, coordination,
recycling, self-discipline, enterprise, perseverance and community
responsibility.
The ETF encourages physical fitness with purpose, where ETF Cells
join new friends in the outdoors working together for fun.
ETF Missions and Expeditions into the local community encourage
adventures pre-planned for success, allowing individual efforts
and team building self-discipline to raise the self esteem of
everyone involved.
Expanding globally, its growing list of team members from Pakistan,
Togo, Zambia, Haiti, the U.S., China, Mexico and Canada will continue
to spread the ETF around the world.
Since 1998, ETF members have traveled around the earth planting
trees, cleaning beaches and parks, participating in eco-races, giving eco-seminars and
cooperating with governments, tourism authorities, universities
and business interests to influence and promote environmental
harmony.
Consumer, commercial, industrial and environmental groups touched
by the ETF have been very impressed and had a great deal of FUN!
An example follows of how the ETF cooperates with any group to
accomplish environmental tasks - illustrating how, when given
the chance, diverse organizations can be surprisingly responsible
and green!
